Looking for a self-defence class in Zurich that really helps when it matters? Krav Maga is made for that: simple, effective techniques that work even when the attacker is bigger and stronger.
Why Krav Maga is the right self-defence for women
Krav Maga recognises that women's needs, strengths and weaknesses differ from men's. Instead of strength against strength, you learn to move off the line, target vulnerable points and free yourself quickly. You learn defensive tactics and how to strike and kick with real effect.
What you learn in the Zurich self-defence class
- Escaping grabs on the wrist, clothing and hair
- Defending chokes from the front and behind
- Ground defence if you have been pushed down
- Defending punches and knife attacks
- Recognising danger early, setting boundaries and defusing verbal threats
Training together with men
In our class, women and men train together. Around a quarter of participants are women. That way you practise the techniques against bigger and heavier partners, as it would be in reality. At first we work playfully and with little force so you learn control and nobody gets hurt.
Confidence that lasts
Nothing protects you better than self-confidence. Knowing you can defend yourself changes how you carry yourself and makes you less likely to be targeted. Many participants notice after just a few weeks that they feel safer in town, on the tram or at the station.
